ABOUT

The Butterfly Children's Dance Group provides a unique fusion of ballet and Chinese dance to children age 4 – 10.  In our classes, we challenge and support our students to reach their artistic and technical promise.

Our goal is to foster a lifelong love and appreciation of dance and to train well prepared, technically proficient dancers in a warm and nurturing atmosphere. Students learn and apply ballet techniques as a foundation for Chinese classical and ethnic dance.

• Learning ballet fundamentals (ie: posture, balance, steps)
• Using ballet as a foundation for form and flexibility
• Applying advanced ballet techniques in Chinese dance, concentrating on both application of technique and movement as well as Chinese cultural style and taste.

Age 

      Level one: age 4 - 6

      Level two: age 7-10

Dress Code

• Leotard
  Solid colored leotard (pink is preferred)
   
• Tights
  Full-footed pink tights (with or without seams), no footless or rolled-up tights.
   
• Ballet Slippers
  Pink leather (preferred) or canvas ballet slippers.
